Affordable, High-Quality Mental Health Supports From a Strength-Based Perspective
We have over forty years of experience providing counseling and psychotherapy as components of the strength-based and family-driven approach that guides our work. This focus has given us a deep understanding of the relationship between therapeutic progress and initiatives that build social connection and economic self-sufficiency. We approach this work with the understanding that poverty + social isolation are correlated, and thus offer a robust approach to well-being in collaboration with our other three impact areas.
Our mission through our counseling and therapy work is to see each individual and family as a unique set of strengths, challenges, relationships, and possibilities. For this reason, our therapists work closely with our Family Development Coaches and other Family Well-Being staff to establish goals and pro-active plans for individual and family growth. Families are also referred to our robust portfolio of initiatives and programs that promote social connection, financial stability + skills building.
Within this overall framework, a range of different therapeutic approaches are available based on individual and family need. Ongoing support groups centered around the below topics are also available to individuals + families to encourage peer-to-peer support networks + growth as they progress on their path toward well-being:
• Parenting/child abuse prevention
• Anger management
• Pregnant/parenting teens
• Perinatal mood disorders
