ENERGY PATHWAY PROGRAM

2019-2020 Cohort

The Energy Pathway Program (EPP) spearheads career development in the process technology industrial sector. For the past twelve years we have continued to partner with local, low-income residents, women and veterans to develop qualified candidates through our industry-tailored program. Our program provides entry level education and training in process systems, technology and safety; with an emphasis in petrochemical industry. Our industry sponsors and sponsors include: Marathon Petroleum, PBF Energy-Torrance Refining Company, Chevron, Phillips66, Los Angeles Sanitation Districts, United Way, United Steel Workers Local 675 and many others. EPP has proven to be a valuable asset and resource for companies looking for capable and knowledgeable candidates to fill their workforce needs.

As part of our evolving curriculum, EPP is now a 16 month program (August-December of the following year). Our curriculum is composed of online classes and in class instruction. In partnership with a Coastline Community College, EPP’s curriculum will focus on, but is not limited to: petroleum technology, process control, process equipment & systems, process operations, instrumentation, environmental health & safety and quality management.

Additionally, EPP offers industry-specific professional-development workshops, industry test prep, in-class program support and employment soft-skills development opportunities to program participants. All EPP graduates receive a Certificate of Achievement in Process Technology from Coastline Community College and SBCC Thrive LA- EPP.

Recruitment for each cohort begins January of the year before (i.e. recruitment for the 2021-2022 cohort begins January through May 2021. The 2021 cohort will begin August 2021 and conclude December 2022).
